Delicious food, calm ambience, good music. Love it!
This restaurant is absolutely top notch in San Francisco. My wife and I love Spanish cuisine after spending significant time in España, so I took her here for her birthday while we visited SF. The food here is excellent and extremely fairly priced. They have a great selection of tapas available and the ones we tried were all fantastic. The main dishes are their various paella options. Don't miss on this, it is excellent. My wife and I don't like mussels or clams very much, so we asked for one with everything else available and they gladly made it. It was exceptional! The inside decor feels a lot like a home and is very comfortable and nice for a date or outing with friends. This is NOT one of those overpriced "trendy" spots with all kinds of over the top decor. This place is a low key gem with great wine, sangria, and food!
MoreThis place is great! I am absolutely in love with Spanish food, and Alegrias definitely does it very well. We had a whole bunch of classics: tortilla, gambas, pulpo, croquetas, and several others and they were all delicious. The staff is very friendly, there's a family feeling about the place and the ambiance is very inviting. Highly recommend.
MoreI love the food here.
Delicious food.
Great tapas. We were four, ordered a paella plate and about 5+ tapas, all thoroughly enjoyable. We had a mix of veggie friendly and non-veggie friendly, all were great. We would definitely go back again !!
MorePhenomenal Spanish food, adorable owners. They were able to accommodate outdoor seating when we called in advance. Seafood paella, gambas al ajillo, and pulpo a la gallega were so on point. So glad we dined in, it was really a delightful experience. Highly recommend!
MoreLovely ambience. Paella was Fab! Loved the decor. Friendly staff
What a treat! Amazing tapas in a family style setting. Owner came and spoke with us for 20 minutes as we savored his delicious tapas and sangria. Don't miss it!
MorePaella was dry. The rest of the food was decent. Little bit pricey. Service mediocre.
MoreGood food, great ambience, kind staff and a lovely dinner experience sums up our time at Alegrias. There is ample street parking, make reservations as they are short staffed and may not be able to accommodate walks in easily. We dint explore their mains because we tried many small plates. The portions are small but still good for two people to share. The flavors are all good, desserts are awesome, and the service is swift, once seated.
MoreGood ambience for a classic Spanish place.
Very sweet and friendly staffs, delicious food with nice atmosphere, would highly recommended.
MoreThe place offers an awesome range of fresh food. I love eating here. Staff members are always very friendly, pricing is reasonable and the spot is always clean.
MoreDisappointing paella. It was quite dry--may have cooked too long.Prices are very reasonable however, and service was excellent.Noisy of course, but it was a Sat.night.
MoreGood tapas
Fantastic Tapas and paella... Definitely one of Best in the area... Definitely worth a visit.
MoreWe had a work party here with a pris fixe dinner. All the tapas plates were delicious! The servers worked hard to make sure we all knew what we were getting. There was plenty of food for all. We would definitely go back.
MoreGreat food and very authentic. Good for dates and family dinners.
Great Spanish Inspired food
Amazing - both food and service. Plan on spending 2 hours, relaxing and enjoying the food
MoreTraditional old school Spanish restaurant
Lovely ambience, celebrated our 5th anniversary here. Great wine, delicious paella, especially with chorizo! Friendly staff and good service. Authentic, cozy restaurant, felt like we were in Spain.
MoreAlegrias was recommended to me by my colleague in LA and her advice did not disappoint. Alegrias can be easily missed from the outside, but was really a unforgettable experience. You will step inside to an exquisite but comfy atmosphere that mixes indoors with outdoors. Rustic but elegant and definitely romantic. The food is not only terrific but inventive and the service is attentive. You'll be glad you checked out this hidden treasure.
MoreAmazing place! Delicious!!!
Has some interesting taco and tapa dishes. Reservation is strongly recommended. We did not have one on a Friday night after Xmas and waited two hours.
MoreWe ordered a lot of tapas- they are all hit or miss. If I have to choose a tapas place in town, this won't be the one on the top of my mind. The ambient here is good.
MoreReally good food my boyfriend took me on a dete.Very nice inside as well.
A Spanish inspired menu that doesn't really taste Spanish. I found the flavors bland and the quality slightly lacking. The food is decent, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.
MoreThey had the best paella I’ve ever had. The sangria pitcher is worth its value. Great tapas food. Friendly staff. I was here with a small group of girl friends but I can see this place being a perfect spot for a dinner date. My friends and I were happy!
MoreWOW, just WOW! The tapas, the sangria and Paiea were simply delicious; this is a rather small, but cozy and romantic restaurant; you will not be disappointed with the service, the ambiance or the food! A+
MoreCute quaint restaurant with amazing food and service staff. First time here and the waiter was fantastic with suggestions for food and drinks. Make sure you make a reservation before hand
MoreThis is the best place for Tapas and Paellas! The interior is very cozy and intimate which makes for a perfect place for a date and the staff is very friendly and very nice. They are very attentive to what we want and we needed. The food is amazing and very delicious. One order of paella is enough for two and I would recommend a pitcher of their amazing sangria to start the night!
MoreOrdered the arroz negra (squid ink paella). It was good, but for $30, I expect pretty close to perfect, and the calamari was a bit chewy. The flavor was also somewhat flat, almost sweet. For a really polished paella, I recommend B44 (also in SF).
MoreIncredible place for take-out! Especially love the patatas aioli and arroz con leche. Would highly recommend for dinner along with some of their sangria. Bonus: they’re locally and family owned so you’re supporting the neighborhood while enjoying good food. Yum!
MoreThe food and drinks at Algerias were wonderful. We came with a large party and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The tapas and sangria are well priced and delicious. Thank you for excellent service! We will be back!
MoreWe had sangria, small tapas dishes and then seafood paella . All dishes was very nice. Did not disappoint
MoreDelicious, delicious food. The owners, an older Spanish couple, clearly don't get many Black patrons. As my friends and I ate (we were a group of 8 Black women and men) the owner came by repeatedly to "compliment" our zany hair (read natural curly or braided hair), micromanage how we ate the tapas, and to take a photo with my friend who he sweared looked like a Nigerian friend of his (spoiler alert, they looked nothing alike). We could tell it was well-intentioned but man was it uncomfortable. Be better owner! Be better!
MoreA decent selection of tapas. Didn’t try the paella this time, but have had it before and it’s good. The waiter knew his stuff and took time to explain various dishes and answer questions. The place was quite busy, but the layout and design mean that the noise level is low and it’s possible to have a conversation without shouting at each other.
MoreGreat tapas. Love the family owned feel to the place
This place is a hidden gem. Lovely, attentive service and delicious food! Must try the paella here and the Spanish wines!
MoreLove this restaurant. Intimate settings for couples, great for conversations where you can actually hear one another. The food is wonderful, the staff is helpful and attentive.
MoreThe best paella we’ve had in SF. This place feels very authentic and reminds me of the best restaurants in beloved Barcelona.Would totally recommend trying their special jamon and shrimp croquettes!
MoreMy parents have taken me here since i was younger, their specialty is their paella! Highly recommend this place, as for the tapas, try the potatoes with aioli sauce as well as the tortilla española, crab cakes are good too! The empanadas are super good! Overall you'll love everything here! The staff is super friendly, & the atmosphere is super chill. As for dessert try the bread pudding & the rice pudding!
MoreThe staff is super knowledgeable and made for a great dining experience. Our waiter was happy to explain everything, including the story behind several dishes. Give the paella a try. When we had it, it was delicious!
MoreGreat tapas place....even though I'm not a tapas guy. Cute and friendly. Was there for a party.Staff excellent. I don't eat cheese or shellfish and they did their best to make me happy. No complaints at all. If you like tapes and paella, you'll like Alegrias.
MoreLove. It! So good!!!!
Little family-owned restaurant in SF. Very cozy, highly recommend a reservation ahead of time. I fell in love with their tapas, everything was extremely flavorful. Crab cakes were my favorite. My husband preferred the chorizo dishes.
MoreExcellent service. Good food.
The best foods forever
